This is all of very high quality. It’s chic and elegant. It’s also a weensy bit on the dull side, although we can’t blame an actor for wanting to remind the public that they’re playing a part. This is why we sometimes get huffy about stars dressing up like their characters. While it might have been fun or appropriate if he’d sported rasta colors or some other nod to the film, we certainly aren’t mad that he didn’t. We are not dealing well with the rise of the white-socks-and-loafers look.

This is regal and colorful in a way that makes her the center of attention, which is never a bad thing for a star at a premiere.  Does the textile look a little stiff? A little like wrapping paper? Yes. A little. It’s a gorgeous textile nonetheless. Having said that, the bodice design is overwhelming her. A little more structure and less volume up top would help a lot.
