Miss Lily Gladstone is taking one of our oldest pieces of red carpet advice and we’re thrilled to see it. Said advice? “To win the Oscar, one must become the Oscar.”
In other words, it doesn’t hurt your chances to go around dressed like a trophy. It helps remind people that you’re a frontrunner. And in this instance, it made a nice accompaniment to her Best Actress win at the NYFCC Awards, her first award of the season. This is how you kick things off. This is how you let everyone know that you not only belong here, but that everyone else should be worried that you’ve arrived. We have some quibbles about the design. The bustline sits a little high on her and we think the design would have been improved if the golds matched, but we really can’t fault the choice or see an issue with the overall effect. She’s on her way and she looks spectacular.
