Critics’ Choice Awards 2024: MAY DECEMBER Star Charles Melton in Valentino

We haven’t always loved May December star Charles Melton’s awards season style choices. His preference for black, blocky suits only paid off for him about half the time he wore them, so we’re happy to say he got his Critics Choice Awards ensemble very close to correct. Unforch, the suit’s still really blocky.

Because of the design of the tie, which is pretty fabulous, we will give him special dispensation to leave his jacket open just this one. While we can’t say that we think every little detail is perfect, we have to commend him for how much he got right this time. The color is gorgeous, the textile is rich and the tailoring, while not to our specific tastes, is pretty great (although he could use half an inch off the hem). Having said that, the white lining is borderline awful.
