Hunh. We’ve always been super-supportive of his envelope-pushing ways, but it turns out? There are limits. We want to like this, because it has the kind of whimsy a film like Wonka practically begs for and it has that ultra-modern feel that defines his best style choices. But as we noted, everything just looks so slippery and squeaky. We don’t have an issue with latex as a fashion textile, but we don’t think he can pull off lilac latex. The boots are hilarious. Those, he can keep.
