Gucci muse Jessica Chastain hit the red carpet of the LACMA Art + Film Gala in – what else? Gucci, of course. And she honestly looks pretty great. Let’s get super-nitpicky about it, just because we’ve had so little high-end red carpetry to nitpick this year.
First: the makeup is gorgeous and we like that she wore her hair up instead of defaulting to her usual Jessica Rabbit hair. We’re two queens who love themselves a pewter gown, but we can’t help shaking the impression that it’s not really the best color for her. She does so much better in colorful metallics. We also love when a garment has an interesting texture, because it tends to take a good picture, but again, we can’t quite let go of the idea that this is a little too textured. We definitely could’ve done without the beaded fringe at the hem and neckline. And finally, just to be total bitches about it, we think the earrings are both tacky and a little too much with the gown. There. We got it all out of our systems and now we feel refreshed.
