We interrupt all of this opinionating on gownery and other forms of womenswear to bring you an example of a man making an epically bad style choice. Succession star Brian Cox visited Jimmy Fallon and we don’t think we’ve ever wished so hard that a celebrity had consulted us ahead of time. You may be thinking we’re overreacting based on the above shot, but please, by all means, slow down and let the truth slowly dawn:

No, sir. Absolutely not. We are not so rigid as to suggest that there is an age limit regarding the wearing of leather pants. In fact, we think this pair of pants would be difficult for most men of just about any age to pull off in this setting. But the cut and the color here are absolutely terrible for him. The choice to wear them so high and go sockless baffles us completely. Those loafers are spectacular and the shirt’s pretty nice too, but we can’t remember a worse style decision by a male star. These look awful on him. A pair of jeans (and a pair of socks) would’ve turned this into a great look. Even a simple pair of black dress pants. But this poo-colored animal skin is not doing it for him.
