We wonder if it’s hard for Iris van Herpen to get celebrities to sit in her front row. After all, a dress that looks like a beautiful insect and a migraine-inducing math problem at the same time isn’t always the easiest sell to the average image-conscious A-lister. That’s why we have to salute all three of these ladies; because they came and they worked the shit out of those dragonfly costumes.
Maisie Williams
Would we have recommended those – or any other – boots to be worn with this dress? No. Do they suit her so well that the mismatch in styles don’t matter? Also no, but we don’t mind the attempt to inject a little punk rebellion into the look. We love van Herpen’s designs generally, but the color and shape of this one doesn’t appeal to us.
Latto
This is gorgeous and she’s working it to perfection. The colors look amazing on her. The hair is gorgeous and the face jewelry looks fantastic with the dress. The sheer should match her skin tone better than that.
Camila Cabello
This is a beautiful gown, but we don’t think she’s the gal for it. That’s not a read. These pieces represent fashion at its highest difficulty setting. Only a Cate or Lupita could really make this sing.
