The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan came out for the Broadway opening night of Just For Us. Is she starring in the play? No, because it’s a one-man gig by standup comic Alex Edelman. Is the outfit she wore for the occasion so darn discussable that we simply had to feature it?
Again, no. Not really. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a perfectly fun, even stylish little getup. We kinda think it would be cuter without the crop top and with the vest buttoned up, but that’s just us. She looks lowkey great and perfectly appropriate for the setting. But the real reason why we’re giving her the spotlight treatment is because she just snagged the Lois Lane role for the upcoming Superman: Legacy (opposite The Politician and Hollywood star David Corenswet as the title character) and we are THRILLED by this news. While DCU head honcho James Gunn reportedly had several actresses audition for the part (Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor), the former Midge Maisel was always the one we were hoping for. She looks the part and five seasons of Maisel prove that she’s got the kind of fast-talking, confident city girl swagger this character requires (and that very few onscreen Loises except Margot Kidder ever really had). We can’t wait to see her fall out of a helicopter in a pencil skirt.
