The stars of what looks to be the funniest movie of the year hit the red carpet for the CinemaCon screening in Las Vegas and served up some notably fun and distinctive fashion to boot. Sabrina Wu, Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola and Ashley Park, we salute and appreciate your efforts. We also can’t wait to see Joy Ride.

People have asked us many times over the last few years to define non-binary style, if there even is such a thing. We always say we’re not the people to make that determination, but somehow, a blouse with the 1980 US Olympic hockey team seems like a great example. It’s funny, visually interesting, and unusual enough to make it hard to pin down. We also love how they paired it with pin stripe pants and heavy Doc Marten-esque shoes. There’s whimsy and attitude in equal measure. It just works.

The suit is fun, but we don’t think the blouse coordinates with it all that well, nor does it take a good picture. She’s doing a good job of working the look, but we think it might’ve been better had she buttoned the jacket.

It’s a great suit and an utterly spectacular t-shirt, but they don’t work well together. She has to keep the jacket open so you can see the shirt, but that jacket was definitely designed to be kept closed. We like the shoes, but we don’t love them with that hem length.

THIS fashion girl was not going to be dressing in convention-wear for her big premiere and we love that for her. Every bit of this works, from the massive shoulders, to the massive bow, to the leather-trimmed skirt. Love the belt and shoes, but we think shoulder bags look odd on a red carpet. It’s a really nice bag, but it’s messing with the shoulder on her blouse.

We hope the film lives up to that trailer, because it’s the funniest one we’ve seen in ages.
