Rosario Dawson, title star of the upcoming (and long-awaited from a portion of Star Wars fandom) Ahsoka series, got up on stage at Star Wars Celebration to unveil the teaser trailer along with her co-stars Natasha Liu Bordazzo and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. They made for a well-coordinated, low-key stylish trio.
Except for the heels, Natasha’s coming at ya straight from 1999, in case anyone was doubting the current vogue for circa Y2K fashion. It’s okay, but like a lot of fashion from that era, it feels both over- and under-done at the same time; like there’s somehow too much and not enough to the outfit. It’s fine, but we’re probably being a bit more negative than we mean to because we think the skirt color is kind of ugly. Rosario looks great, although a navy blue suit doesn’t necessarily pop on a stage like that. Still, it’s a sharp look – sharper than her normally laid-back style tends to allow – and her hair looks amazing. Starring in your own Disney-funded series can do a lot for a person’s style. Mary Elizabeth is taking the Big Suit trend to its limits, but you know? We kinda love this on her. It’s fun and bold without being too over-the-top. She looks confident and comfortable but you absolutely can’t miss her on the stage. Living for those shit-kicking boots, girl.
Looks a bit generic to us, but we’re not really the demo for this one. We never watched any of the cartoon series from which she hails, but we’ll probably give it at least a passing glance.
