Good Lady Cate brought her season-long commitment to sustainable fashion all the way up to the Oscars front door. And we’re just the bitches to point out that it’s all a weensy bit underwhelming.
Her stylist Elizabeth Stewart noted on her Insta that this fulfills the brief because it’s “a top from an archival collection and a skirt cut from fully sustainable silk” worn with a pair of “archival much worn” shoes, which is how we’re going to start referring to all of her shoes from now on. It’s all fine. Really. We suppose at this point, we expect more than “just fine” from Good Lady Cate. On the other hand, when you take it in context with the gowns of Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis, there did seem to be a collective sense of stepping back a little on the fashion after an intense campaigning season.
