Pamela Anderson continues her “Bitch, Get Out of My Way” tour in promotion of her new memoir Love, Pamela and her new docu-series Pamela: A Love Story. After all the shit she was put through in her career, it’s really great that this entire project to reclaim her story is framed around love. Despite the jokey opening sentence of this post, what strikes us about this move is how restrained it is. She’s taking control of her story but she’s doing it in a very disciplined, scandal-averse sort of way. We think that’s reflected in how she’s dressing for this tour.
It’s surprisingly low-key; like something Michelle Obama would have worn circa 2010. She’s still Pam, so it’s all wild hair (on set) and eyeliner and stiletto heels, which is as it should be. If she’d prim’d this down with pearls and sensible shoes, it would feel like she was trying too hard. As we said with her red carpet look the other day, the idea of not wearing much jewelry or fussing too much with the fashion is a way of showing that you don’t need those things to look good. It’s a flex, but a restrained one. Love that for her.
