The other day, we described Keri Russell’s style approach as being low-effort with high impact. It’s a little bit akin to Angelina Jolie’s approach, where she knows she’s going to look good regardless of what she wears, so she doesn’t overthink what she wears. The difference between them is that Angelina goes for these dramatic neutral looks whereas Kerri has a little bit more of an edge to her style. Case in point:

It’s black pants and a brown blouse, which makes for a fairly standard if not downright boring pairing, but the blouse is sheer with a pussy bow and the pants are leather with a flare. Even then, we wouldn’t say she’s hitting any trends, pushing any envelopes, or causing any fuss. But she looks fantastic in it. It’s as unfussy as a sheer blouse and leather pants can get. There’s no flash or glitz and it’s not even overly sexy. She looks comfortable, confident, and kind of effortlessly glam. We don’t always love the results of her style efforts, but we think she knows exactly who she is and how she wants to come across, which is always a major foundation for good style.
