Golden Globes 2023 Red Carpet Showdown, Men’s Division: Colman Domingo vs. Barry Keoghan

Posted on January 13, 2023

With the first major awards show of 2023 checked off our opinionating list, it’s time to return to our favorite T Lo tradition: pitting the stars against each other in a fashion cagematch. We each picked our favorite menswear look of the Golden Globes and you get to vote on which pick is the best. What could be more fun? Probably lots of things, but you’re here looking at this, so we figure the distraction appeals to you. Let’s go!

Tom’s Pick: Colman Domingo in Dolce & Gabbana

T’s Defense: From the bows on the shoes, to the sparkle on the tux, to all of the fabulous jewelry pieces, this is Black Queer Excellence personified. He looks both hot as fuck but also incredibly chic and refined. The hair is tight, the skin is moisturized, the beard is groomed and oiled, and he stands as a shining example of what good fashion, good grooming, and smart accessorizing can do for a man.

Lorenzo’s Pick: Barry Keoghan in Louis Vuitton

Lo’s Defense: I LOVE THIS LOOK SO MUCH I WANT TO MARRY IT (sorry, Tom). The blue is an unusual choice that brings out his eyes and I’m absolutely head-over-heels for that tie design. He’s such a quirky and original actor that I would have hated to see him in something conventional. This works really well with his looks as well as his public image. I think it’s a gorgeous look.

There you have it! Two queens stand before you — with very different opinions. You have to decide which of us is the smarter and more correct one in this instance. Go!
