This appears to have been the weekend where the Best Actress Oscar nominee fast-tracks headed out to some fancy dinners in their honor. Michelle Yeoh made the rounds in white and gold, and now here’s The Woman King star Viola Davis, keeping things simple in black and gold for her own victory lap.
There’s not a whole lot to discuss here aside from the chain straps, which provide the dress its one focal point of visual interest. She’s done plenty of high-impact, boldly colorful dressing in promotion of this performance and film, so a little restraint at this moment seems well-earned and smart. It all looks great on her and we see no reason to dress it up further except to maybe ask for one or two gold statement pieces of jewelry to really make it pop. A big gold cuff on one side and a big gold cocktail ring on the other would be just the thing.
