The cast and a few all-star fans of Avatar: The Way of Water came out in some eye-popping looks for the film’s LA premiere. Let’s tell them how they did.

The dress is very ’80s retro, but we can’t say it’s not working for her. We can’t decide if the hair suits her or not.

The top is really eye-catching and interesting, but we don’t know if a fairly standard pair of slacks was the right thing with which to pair it. Love the shoes, though.

The suit comes off a bit business-like to our eyes, but he’s really well coordinated and everything looks extremely fine.

Heidi Klum

Heidi heard the word “water” was in the title and came dressed as water. You can’t fault her for complicating things.  And now, the Ava-teens:

We salute and appreciate (most of) their efforts.

More male stars should hit big-ticket premiere red carpets dressed like Regency era poets. We appreciate the flex, but the pants could be fitted a bit better.

Trinity’s gown is gorgeous on her, Bailey went for a slightly on-theme sort of look, in a color that really pops, probably because it matches the title behind her. We’ll give Jamie a lot of credit for wandering away from the beaten style path, but that vest just doesn’t work for him.

It’s nice enough, but it takes a terrible picture, which has to be the primary consideration for any red carpet look.

Stephen Lang

He looks pretty spiffy. We wouldn’t normally love a tuxedo that shiny, but as the next entry shows, it probably worked to his advantage here.

Joel David Moore

It looks fine in every sense of the word, although we would’ve waved anyone away from wearing dark blue had they asked us. No matter how thematically appropriate it might seem for the night, there was no way the carpet and all of the branding material wasn’t going to be rendered in that shade.

We really appreciate how well she understands that her husband is a void in public so she has to do the heavy lifting of being interesting. Those boots go with that dress at all, but a girl’s gotta do what she can to snag that spotlight.

Enh. The pajama trend died out a while back.

Can’t really complain about any of that, not even the turtleneck. It suits him, takes a pretty good picture, and is extremely December red carpet-appropriate.

There’ve been a few attempts at the classic white oxford style among ladystars lately, but this is easily our favorite of the lot. It’s a style that really suits her and the skirt is  gorgeous. We’re not sure about the bag, but the jewelry is chef’s-kiss perfect.
