We grouped a trio of actresses in rather hideous LV frocks at the Academy Museum gala for an earlier post, but in the grand tradition of late night infomercials, “But wait! There’s MORE!” While Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas managed to select from a pile other than dingy lace frocks, we can’t in good conscience say that they fared all that much better than poor Emma, Alicia and HoYeon. Brace yourselves.
Joe wore an ensemble from the women’s collection and we do appreciate that, even if there’s nothing particularly femme about the design. That minor concession aside, it’s an awful outfit. Gimmicky and cheap-looking. It does nothing for him. Sophie may have fared marginally better, but that could just be due to her ability to work a look. We like the tights and the jacket is kind of interesting, if a little overdesigned, with hardware that’s proportionally terrible for it and a combination of textiles that isn’t quite coming together cohesively. It’s a garment that feels like it’s in constant tension with itself, which is sort of cool, but not particularly red carpet-ready.
