It’s always a pleasure to have a little spotlight judgment time with Miss Emily Blunt, since she rarely fails to bring it to the red carpet. Unfortunately, she’s being all supportive and stuff, so we’d just look like bitches if we went too hard on her style choices.
Emily has been going to the American Institute for Stuttering Gala for years now, as a show of support for a cause that’s near and dear to her as a former stutterer. Even we are not such rank bitches as to make an issue of her accessorizing or hem length or whatever on an occasion such as this, but fashion commentary is our game ’round these parts, so we’ll weigh in lightly. The dress is a variation on the runway version seen below and we’re not entirely sure all of the changes work for it. We don’t mind the puffy sleeves, but the little bows are too twee for us and we don’t think the black sash helps the design that much. Still, it’s a really striking textile and the colors look great on her.
