It’s quite possible we’re simply worn down after so much awards weekend coverage, but we felt like spotlighting this Florence Pugh look from the BAFTAs because it’s … we don’t know, not a disaster? But still kind of interesting? Even though we kinda hate it? We’re having a lot of thoughts about it, as you can see.

The funny thing is, it probably doesn’t deserve more than a few seconds of our time. We loathe big trains on mini-dresses. We do, however, think the contrast between the style of dress, which is almost military-like, and the princessy poof of a train make for an unexpected juxtaposition. We’re not a hundred percent on all of the styling choices – those things in her hair are weird  – but we like the eye makeup, slick hair, septum ring and earrings. It’s weird that the jacket buttons seem to be pulling so much. The dress could’ve used a little more shape to it. None of it’s really working, but it did manage to turn our heads for a minute, just for being odd and unexpected. That’s pretty much a win in the red carpet game.

We hate the chains wrapped around her neck and we don’t think the gimmicky reason for it really justifies it:

Sorry, but that just looks silly.
