Sabyasachi Fine Jewelry

Our ‘Fine Jewelry’ speaks of an amorous kinship between diamonds, rubies and emeralds. Old Golcondas interlaced with Goswara and rare Basra. Brilliant cuts, mutuals, rose cuts and fancy diamonds set in platinum and gold. Rose pink to rich red, Burmese rubies lend an air of classic sophistication, with silk, scattering light into brilliant facets.

“Growing up, I spent hours rummaging through my mother and grand-mothers’ jewelry cupboards. Their taste was simply exquisite. Maybe this is why I feel disappointed. Where has all the art gone? Perhaps it was this question that pushed me to find the answer.”

“I grew up in Calcutta. It was almost frightening; this city does that to you. Calcutta injects a sense of aesthetic into your soul, and things that are seen as unique in other cities are a way of life here. There is an unspoken pressure. Subconsciously, this way of life has shaped my design identity.

I’ m very fond of jewelry, maybe a tad sentimentally so. Growing up, I spent hours rummaging through my mother and grand-mothers’ jewelry cupboards. Their taste was simply exquisite.

Perhaps, this is why I feel disappointed.

When women wear my clothes, I invariably expect them to pair it with that kind of jewelry. But, I don’t find it here anymore.

Where has all the art gone?

Perhaps it was this question that pushed me to find the answer.” – Sabyasachi
