Penélope Cruz in Chanel Couture at the MoMA Film Benefit Tribute in Her Honor

Posted on December 15, 2021

Well, this definitely seems to be the date on the calendar when the ladystars switch over to holiday-themed fashion, going by Nicole Kidman’s glittery green eleganza at the Australian premiere of Being the Ricardos and Penélope Cruz’s Christmas Cinderella drag at the MOMA tribute to her career:

Personally, we find this one to be a bit too literally “Holiday Barbie” for us. The combination of the red satin, gigantic bow and sparkly lace bring it way too close to “Sexy Mrs. Claus” than we’d like. On the other hand, if a gal can’t get a little princess fantasy on when the entire night is in her honor, and if she can’t do it all Christmas style in December, then why do red fantasy gowns even exist? We could be convinced on this one if the waistline wasn’t so weird. And if maybe the shoes had been a little more interesting.
