Being the Ricardos stars Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem hit the red carpet to celebrate the big premiere of their turns as Lucy and Desi and they do not, in fact, have any ‘splaining to do.

Because they look pretty fantastic together. We wonder if they’d been cast in some other sort of film if people would have made “Lucy and Desi” references to their pairing. We do like that she’s keeping her hair in the red zone lately; not because we want her to do Lucy cosplay on the red carpet, but because it suits better than any other color. Anyway, his look is fine – in every sense of the word. We’re not fans of the black dress shirt, but we can’t say it’s not working for him.

Let the announcement go forth: The lady is making her play for the Oscar. That is practically the epitome of the Prestige Actress gown and it happens to be a style to which she’s always been perfectly suited (probably because she’s been a Prestige Actress for several decades). It’s not our favorite color for her (or most others) and we think the bust sits a little low but it has that quality of seriousness combined with a Cinderella fantasy that makes for great Oscar gowns. The jewelry is gorgeous. The makeup is harsh.
