We don’t know, you guys…

…maybe?

Let’s let Miss Press Release have the first word here:

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.

The teaser featured the first official footage from the highly anticipated series, which contained several previously announced cast members in addition to the following newly revealed cast:

Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon – Younger brother to Coryls Velaryon and commander in the Velaryon navy

John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon – Son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen

Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron – Daughter of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen

Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon – Son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen

Admittedly, a new HBO series set in the Game of Thrones universe has as many reasons to recommend it as to make us want to avoid it. While it may have ended so badly that it left nothing but ashes in the mouths of its audience for years to come (hyperbole, but we’re going with it), Game of Thrones was a – you’ll pardon the pun – gamechanger for television and over the course of its run, produced some of the finest drama the medium offered in the 21st Century.

Two more reasons to consider jumping on board, even though we find it difficult to re-watch even the good episodes of GoT now (due to the aforementioned ashes-in-mouth situation). The first is that it literally looks good from what little we can see of it:

And the second reason to be perhaps a little intrigued is that the creative team who fucked up the the original series, David Benioff and DB Weiss, are not working on this one. So are you? Intrigued, we mean.
