Emmys 2021: “Hacks” Star Jean Smart in Ralph Lauren

We’ve only covered Jean Smart on the red carpet a handful of times, so we can’t really say we have some sort of handle on her style preferences, but it seems to us that this dress more or less embodies them. She’s worn a few slightly fussy things over the years, but she’s really in her zone when she keeps things simple and elegant. We suspect the coverage and high neckline really appealed to her, but the sheer yoke and the flawless fit kept things just a little sexy and glamorous. Her team smartly made sure to punctuate the look with some stunning jewelry. The shoulder seams/straps bug a little and when she moves, the sleeves wrinkle up way too much. And if we’re being perfectly honest, we’re not loving the idea of a turtleneck over a sheer yoke, but she looks comfortable and chic and most important of all, like a goddamn star.
