We gay-screamed and gay-flapped our hands, you guys. No sense in being coy about it. We don’t think we’ve ever seen an actress on a promo tour for playing a legendary queen from history nail the style brief so well. You can’t look at this and NOT see a queen:

We loved it when Jasmine Cephas Jones wore a version of this look last week and made the old-fashioned silhouette look modern with some smart styling, but this is just next level. The tied crop top is such an unexpected choice that it completely alters the feel of the skirt. Bringing out the red elements was smart, but what we really love is how modern and minimal that top is in comparison to that old-school bottom half. Add some gorgeous jewelry and a hair do that may as well be a crown and you are serving some serious Tudor realness while keeping the whole vibe as 2021 as possible. Love it. She looks amazing.
