It’s just another day of the week for Bey.

Do we all hang around the house looking like this? No we do not, unless you are Beyoncé herself reading this, in which case, welcome hi we love you and could you please pose with our book next time?
But since it is highly unlikely Bey’s reading this, we’ll just say we reacted with a weensy bit of amusement when the fashion and celebrity press gushed over this ensemble. Look, the game here is self promotion and branding, through and through. The currency in celebrity culture is measured in attention. This is all extremely on-brand for her and she does look kind of ludicrously glamorous in am Absolutely Fabulous sort of way. She’s savvy and self-aware on a level most superstars aren’t, so we can call all of this a rather smart way to be publicly Beyoncé, if that makes any sense. But chic? Oh honey, no. Still, we take note of how good the accessorizing is here. We love the shades, bag, shoes and jewelry – and that tells us just how self-aware this whole display actually is. It’s a loud, tacky sort of outfit, but she and her stylist Zerina Akers knew to keep the styling appropriately fabulous and well-curated.
Also, this is extremely well-staged. Between this and the Kate Hudson post yesterday, we’re kinda digging how the at-home celebrity serve is going through a “Let’s coordinate the outfit with the background” phase.
