Julia Roberts Gets Unsubtle in Christian Siriano

As we’ve noted many a time recently (two, maybe three times, tops), this is possibly the least subtle year in many people’s entire lives. It’s not a time for coyness or even indecisiveness, which is partially why Christian Siriano’s rather ingeniously simple VOTE pieces from his spring collection keep rocketing around the celebrity set. Julianne Moore gave us a typically elegant and high-fashion spin, while Lizzo kept it short, cute and sexy. But Julia? Her style sweet spot is and always has been a killer suit:

The point of putting a VOTE gown into a spring collection was not to manufacture it or produce it for retail; it was to signal to civic-minded celebs during an election year that Siriano had the fashion goods for them in case they wanted to do a little GOTV campaigning. It’s clearly paid off for him.

We don’t have a critique or much to note about the suit (which is, after all, a gimmick), but we’ll note that she does great with a flared pant. It’s the perfect silhouette for her.
