Those pants look like a death sentence in a situation with photographers and a staircase. We think this is too casual for the event, not because she’s wearing pants, but because she’s wearing a scrub top. As for the pants, we wish designers would just let fancy pants just be fancy pants and stop trying to do some sort of skirt-adjacent thing.
Charli XCX in Saint Laurent
It looks incredibly stale and mumsy on her. She should be going for looks with more of an edge to them.

Yeah, that looks like a Zac Posen. Plain as hell.

We made a joke about beehives coming back into style yesterday, but we didn’t think it was likely to come true. We’re entering a new era of Big Hair and we, for two, are very excited by that prospect. The gown is okay.

It’s a little basic, but she wore like ten outfits that night so she gets a pass on basic.
Pamela Anderson in Ferragamo
This is a somewhat cheap knockoff of Sharon Stone’s iconic Oscars look and for the life of us, we can’t understand why anyone thought that was a good idea. She’s a contemporary, so an “homage” is a little odd.
Parker Posey in Rodarte
This is horrible and we think we might actually love it a little. She was getting way into her Wacky Aunt era, which is not necessarily a bad idea for her, but we thought the looks felt stale and aging. This is fun and it feels completely appropriate for her.
Renate Reinsve in Louis Vuitton
We hate fringe and we suspect this rarely looked as good all night, but it looks stunning here.
Sarah Snook in Patou
It’s the least interesting thing she’s worn in years. Lined lace really is back, isn’t it? We’d like to take credit for that.
