Good Lady Cate keeps things sharp and on-message this time, possibly because she hangs on our every word and was concerned that we found some of her Venice ensembles underwhelming and others hard to parse.
That’s just about perfect, we’d say. Love the jacket, which she’s worn before. The tee is in support of the SZFE – The University of Theater and Film Arts, in Hungary – which is struggling under and protesting against government control. Several international film stars at Venice have been showing their support all week.
It’s funny. If you asked us prior to this month whether Cate Blanchett’s best style choices were to be found on the sidewalk or the red carpet, we’d have picked the latter without hesitation. She’s never had bad street style, of course, but she’s always been at her best when she gets to sport more formal wares. And yet these past few weeks, it seems like her best looks have all happened away from any carpets, red or otherwise.
