Once again, we turn to the TV to solve all of our problems. In this case, in a world where red carpets seem like strange fictions or relics from long ago, we turn to the most stylish killer on TV for our fashion fix.
Charles Jeffrey Loverboy Chain Trim Coat
Charles Jeffrey Loverboy Shepherd Tartan Skirt
We really love the combination of these two plaids together. We also love the big and ’80s-slouchy vibe of the coat. But boy, does that chain detail ruin it. It’s not quite as bad on the skirt, but both items would look better with that weird detail removed. From a costume design perspective, it does tend to give her something of an edge and a feeling of danger or hardness, which is as it should be. Villanelle’s hard and dangerous. She’s also exuberantly a little nutty:
Charlotte Knowles Geo Aviator Jacket
Gucci Technical Jersey Pants
That is a hilarious look, but we can’t sign off on that jacket. The pants have possibilities, but that Muppet husk is a fashion abomination.
