We gave Miss Saoirse’s, Prince Timmee’s and Miss Laura’s style choices a little room to breathe in their own posts, but it’s time to check out how the rest of the Little Women (plus one man) did for the film’s premiere.
Eliza Scanlen in Khaite
At first glance, we were kind of feeling the whole Princess Leia thing she’s serving up, but upon closer inspection, we realized we can’t support those ridiculous sleeves-things. And the skirt fabric looks flimsy paired with a sweater. The whole thing has a cosplay feel to it.
Emma Watson in Balenciaga
It’s dramatic, but we honestly can’t say we love it. The shape is drab, and while the boot action is kind of cool, we tend to think they needed to be in a contrasting color of some sort. Their impact feels lessened when they blend in so much.
Florence Pugh in Valentino Couture
It’s a great color for her. We have not loved the trend of mini-dresses with huge flounces or trains, but as far as that particular style goes, this may be one of the better iterations we’ve seen.
Greta Gerwig in Oscar de la Renta
Pretty and romantic, but understated. Her director red carpet style is WAY better than her actress red carpet style, which is something worth pondering in terms of the boxes we tend to put actresses in.
James Norton in Ralph Lauren
We love the idea of a blue velvet suit, but the cut’s not great and the shirt and tie needed to provide contrast, trends be damned. Also, he needs a makeup artist to help define his eyes for these sorts of occasions. Those blonde lashes and nearly invisible eyebrows make the whole top half of his face disappear in candid photos.
