Why, ladies. We weren’t expecting this. You have taken us off-guard by showing up in some seriously strong, dare we say “unforgettable” day looks. Brava to you both. We will now commence the judging.
That? Is SPECTACULAR. We don’t want to speak on behalf of our sisters, but we feel like THIS is how most women want to look if they’re going to try a plaid pantsuit on for size. When it comes to flared jackets paired with flared pants, however, we have to acknowledge the elephant in the room, so to speak: It really helps to be model-tall and model-proportioned to pull off these items in these cuts. The slit in the pants is a pleasant surprise. It actually works for us. We don’t think the black pumps do a thing for the look, though. If you’re going to the trouble to highlight your shoes that way, pick something with a little visual oomph. This was practically begging for a spectator pump.
This, on the other hand, has more extensive issues. We actually love everything she’s wearing here. We may not get a lot of support on this opinion, but we think those pants are really cute. We just don’t think the top and the pants go together at all. From the waist down, she’s perfect. From the waist up, we keep wishing that top was red instead of an off-match green in a different texture. Still, it’s not bland or forgettable, so she’s got that going for her.
