Pop Style Opinionfest: Dancing Queens

Girl, we really stepped into it this week. Dancing with the Stars (a show we never watch) announced its new cast, including Karamo Brown of Queer Eye (a show we also never watch) and Sean Spicer, former press secretary to the current presidential administration (a show we try to avoid like the plague). We might not have had much to say about that except Karamo went and did his “platitudes and aspirational quotes” bit and jumped up to defend Spicer when no one asked him to. The result was a social media shit show complete with blockings, deleted accounts and hurt feelings all around. So naturally, we decided to wade into those waters with our opinions.

But before we get into all of that mess, there’s plenty of happy TV tawk, including discussions on the upcoming Showtime jawn On Becoming a God in Central Florida, starring the amazing Kirsten Dunst, the just completed season 3 of Glow, which encouraged us to listen to our sister critics over our own inner voices, and our EXTREME excitement over the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and the bunch of bawdy, rough queens they cast for it.

So it’s the usual mix: a little bit of queerness, a little bit of controversy, some TV talk, and a LOT of opinions. Thank you once again for putting up with it, dolls!
