Mr. Holland has been a semi-permanent resident of Brown Town ever since this poledance started. And while that sentence sounds filthy if you read it a certain way, we’re just talking about his unusual choice of color.
It’s a counter-intuitive choice in a lot of ways. It’s June, for one; he’s promoting a Spider-Man movie for another. Not that he’s required to dress in primary colors or anything like that. But brown is a tough color for picture-taking purposes. It doesn’t tend to pop, which is kind of what you want your clothes to do for a blockbuster movie premiere. This look – and most of his others so far on this tour – have more of an Oscar campaign feel to them than a summer superhero flick. We love the styling here. The hair and glasses are classic ’60s Peter Parker, whether intentional or not. Color aside – and we admit, he does look good in brown – we’re not crazy about the shape and style of that jacket. But if you want to go for the modern take on suiting, then keep the jacket and lose the big-ass conventional loafers. If ever a suit called for more casual footwear, this would be the one.
