We feel like if we go too hard on expressing our disappointment, we’d be doing her a disservice. Because on the one hand, yes. This is kind of a letdown and somewhat dull in comparison to so many of her best lewks. On the other hand, can’t a lady dial it back a little when she wants to? Especially if she’s been consistently serving it at high levels for so long?
To be fair, we really like the jacket. It’s cool and fresh, with just enough of a twist to keep it Tilda. But man, those pants are asking a lot. From the bland neutral color to the shiny finish to the most horrifyingly high waist we’ve seen in ages. Sure, they’re weird enough to keep the look from being entirely too business-like, but they are hellaciously awful in shape and textile.
