There’s a new Nancy Drew and she took her new posse out to hit the premiere red carpet like an easter basket full of budding ingenues. We don’t know most of these gals, but we were pretty tickled by their fashion.
We see they took a page from the Stranger Things kids style book: Show up coordinated, but not matching, with each member of the group in a distinctly different style that sets her apart. That’s good styling, even if the results aren’t … well.

Sophia Lillis in Rodarte

They’re having too much fun living in their girl power moment that we don’t want to be the grumpy uncles in the corner. Besides, we honestly don’t have critiques. Love all the bright, bold colors. If there are perhaps some questionable shoe choices or slightly clashy color stories, that is to be somewhat expected. We will say that Sophia’s Rodarte, while perfectly on brand for her, is more than a bit overdesigned (which makes if perfectly on brand for Rodarte, we suppose). We’d have told her to get rid of the shoulder bows.
They could not have found an actress that looks more like an old Nancy Drew book cover. This looks cute. We realize these franchises are launched for the young ones, but we’d love a retro Nancy, set in the mid-sixties when there were such things as teenage girls named Nancy.
