You may now commence your squees.
Obviously this doesn’t tell us anything about the film, but the images are gorgeous and the tagline is absolutely perfect. We already knew there wasn’t going to be a big leap in time and that the film was going to remain in the 1920s – or at least start there. Edith and Mary’s costumes look quite a bit more expensive and elaborate than the TV versions, which weren’t shabby, of course. If nothing else, this film is going to be a stunning fashion fest. And now that we think about it, it’s going to be a lot of fun to see the familiar sights of Highclere Castle blown up huge on a movie screen.
