Kittens, let’s kick off February by having a Valentine’s – themed cagematch, yes? When it comes to the holiday, you’re either a pink girl or red girl, in our observation.
T’s Pick: Emily Blunt at the SAG Awards 2019 in Michael Kors Collection
T’s Defense: It’s flawless. The fit is perfect, the color looks spectacular on her, the shoes and jewelry are well-chosen, the makeup is exactly right. Given the exuberance of the ruffles, a restrained hairstyle was a savvy choice. Everything about it works, suits her perfectly and looks memorable. She nailed it.
Lo’s Pick: Sandra Oh at the SAG Awards 2019 in Jenny Packham
Lo’s Defense: One of the things we didn’t point out the first time was the richness of this red. We see a lot of red sequined gowns every year, but this deep, rich shade brings a sense of luxury to it. And it’s a color that looks amazing on her. The bust is a little wonky, but the train balances it and I love the playful quality of her hair combined with the elegant earrings. It’s a bunch of slightly unexpected choices that come together really well.
There you have it, darlings! Red vs. pink! Ruffles vs. trains! And more sequins than you can shake a drag queen at! Which one’s it gonna be?
