Miss Glenn, they did you wrong again. We’re sorry, dear. And we don’t know if this makes things worse or better, but you clearly showed up …
… ready to pick up that damn trophy once and for all. This is the illustration of our maxim “To win the Oscar, one must become the Oscar.” Unforch, it didn’t work this time. We can’t say it went to an undeserving winner, though.
As for the gown, we liked the rich boldness of it; the way it proclaimed her a winner and champion no matter what. And she benefited from a distinct lack of gold among the major looks of the night. But it’s heavy – over 50 pounds, according to some reports – and it looks it. The cape is pretty badass, but we think the dress probably looks much better without it.
It sucks to lose once again, but we propose that Glenn’s probably going to have a great couple of career years ahead of her because of this whirlwind promo tour and may even wind up securing a nomination again very soon. Fingers crossed. She’s waited a long damn time.
