Folks, all y’all who yell at celebrities for hitting the winter streets of New York sans jacket or decent foot coverage (and that most definitely includes us) are bound by law to keep your mouths shut on Miss Rita’s choices here.
You can’t say she’s not dressing weather-appropriate.
But this is, of course, very far from a judgment-free zone, so let’s break this down. Putting aside the distracting incongruity of the Rousseau painting, is a calf-length white wool cableknit turtleneck dress a thing you can support? Would you wear it if you could? Because we can see the benefits to one, but we don’t see how anyone comes out looking good. It’s not all that far removed from a Snuggie, is it? Is there a way to dress this one up? We don’t blame her for the socks and sneakers, but it doesn’t exactly elevate the look.
On the other hand, we have to give her credit. This is a unique high-fashion look that doesn’t make her look like a shivering try-hard. No one else is likely to step out in this any time soon. Goofy as it is, we like seeing brands like Kenzo getting a spin on the celebrity promo machine.
