Miss Patricia was not only the winner of a Golden Globe award for her fine, if chilling work on Sharp Objects, but she also won the totally imaginary and made-up-on-the-spot T Lo Color Presentation Award for working those bold hues to amazing effect. As we noted earlier, we’ve had some issues with the way certain colors are being deployed on the red carpet lately, but Patricia and her team seem to have this trend well in hand.

Having said that, we wish we liked this one a bit more. The idea is fun and the youthfulness of the look is at just the right level and balance. We really hate the buckle detail at the collar, though. It does a lot to drag the look down – almost literally. And while the juvenile tone of the dress is within her wheelhouse, the doll purse is not a smart addition to the look and the lace pumps aren’t fresh. She’d have been better off working the patent leather motif all the way through her accessories.

There were some dicey and questionable yellows on the red carpets this weekend, but this isn’t one of them. We guestion the hem length and the green bag, but we love this look overall. The earrings are gorgeous.

PinIt’s dramatic and elegant. The color is gorgeous and the floaty sweep of the skirt really suits her. We wish we could say we love it all, but the construction of that bodice, especially the nude panels on the side, is too distracting for us to get past. She needed something with way more structure up top, not just to supper the dress itself (which it’s struggling to do at the moment), but to balance out the volume of the skirt. It’s just too unbalanced and not well constructed, we’re sorry to say.
