We’d really like to take the more charitable route and suggest that Miss Nicki hit the EMAs red carpet with some Halloweening still left in her. It’s kind of hard to do that when she’s standing there in a borrowed Versace gown, literally dressed up as the Versace logo.
That is just a level of label-hawking on the red carpet the likes of which we’ve never seen. Girlfriend took the whole idea of branding and really ran with it, didn’t she? If this becomes a trend, you can expect a Jonas brother to step out dressed like a Coke bottle at some point.
Anyway, when she stops with the corporate branding exercise, she looks pretty amazing:
It’s not showing any of us anything we haven’t seen before, but a big silver and gold Versace gown is never truly a bad idea on an MTV red carpet. It’s just the right mix of Tacky-Glam.
