Darlings, let’s continue to look at pretty, pleasing things for as long as it’s possible to keep the world at bay, yes? Yes. We gave you Jared’s latest Drug Lord Jesus schtick, but here’s Miss Lupita, right on his heels with some killer Disco Cleopatra realness in response, as if heaven was one big Studio 54 party and everyone’s up there looking fabulous for all eternity.

BAM.

It takes a Lupita to take a fairly standard (if shimmering and glamorous) Oscar de la Renta gown and wind up looking like royalty stepping out of the mists of history. We think the difficulty setting on a gown like this would be fairly low for most celebrity women, but as always, the very fact of Lupita in such standard Hollywood fare is what makes it fresh and exciting. Shimmering gold looks great on almost everyone, but on a dark-skinned black woman, it’s simply stunning every time. And after years of covering her, we didn’t think there were any hairstyles left available to her that we would rate in her Top Five, but these chunky gilded dreads may just have to elbow their way near the top spot. They look absolutely amazing on her and they totally change the feel of this gown.

And now, with images of Jesus and Cleopatra doing The Hustle in heaven, you are free to go back to whatever it is you need to be doing today. When that image fades, come back and we’ll serve you something else frivolously distracting.
