Miss Julia isn’t exactly working at a disadvantage when it comes to fashion, being a tall, thin, angular white woman, which is literally about 85% of what works the world’s runways. Even so, we’d say her promo style history has been somewhat spotty, especially in the area of women’s suiting, which always struck us as odd. We’d think a pantsuit would be the one garment above all others that she could throw on and look amazing without any effort but that hasn’t always been the case.

That’s simply spectacular on her. And we say that with the full admission that we don’t like pink suits generally and aren’t particularly in love with this shade. But the color looks pretty great on her, the black shirt tones it down and the shoes (which are NOT generic naked sandals or neutral pumps, two celebrity style trends that look like they might be on the wane, fashion gods and saints be praised) have just enough oomph to them without being focus-pulling. The messy braid is a cliche at this point, but damn if the lady isn’t working the hell out of it. The pink tone to her hair is apparently left over from Halloween, but it makes a pretty great complement to the look.
In related news, we DEVOURED her new series Homecoming (on Amazon) over the weekend and will have much to say on it shortly. T Lo-recommended, not least because she gives one of the best performances of her career in it.
Bearing in mind that she hasn’t been shy about hating the promo machine, looking at the above charm-bomb, it’s clear that girlfriend is still very, very good at it.
