All the Project Runway finale judges hate Heidi right now.
Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum, Emmy Rossum, and Zac Posen. Nina Garca is wearing a Dolce&Gabbana suit, Heidi Klum is wearing a Julien MacDonald dress, and Emmy Rossum is wearing a top and skirt by Barbara Bui.
It’s almost obnoxious, because she had to know neither Emmy or Nina were going to wear anything as … overstated as this thing is. On the other hand, it’s pretty much the definition of a Heidi Klum dress and sometimes good style is about knowing your strengths. It’s tacky, and it’s not quite New York Fashion Week style, but you can’t say she looks bad in it.
Nina went her usual tastefully subdued look. In recent years, we’d say she takes less risks with her fashion, than she used to. She’s gotten more understated. That’s fine, but we suspect this’ll look boring as hell on television. And we hope she doesn’t completely abandon the urge to occasionally wear something loud or wild.
Emmy split the difference between Nina and Heidi and went with a pretty, ruffly, but mostly downplayed kind of look. It’s expected that a fashion editor would go low-key for a runway show, but this is a little too demure for any actress planning on standing next to the Kluminator – and on a runway, no less.
We’re a little too tired for math-based scoring, so from best to worst, it’s Heidi, for knowing how to work her assets, Nina, for sticking to her role, and Emmy, for not knowing what she was up against.
As always, Zac looks like a stylish kid at his Bar Mitzvah.
Also, this happened:
Which is very cute (and why we suspect they shut the doors to the tent so early). Tim looks adorable, of course. That’s a lot of pattern-mixing for TV, though.
