Pairs Division: Kidman and Urban

We always recognize that carpet whenever we look at celebrity pictures. They’re at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, which is where Bravo used to hold finale parties for Project Runway and Shear Genius back in the day. Every time we see that distinctive pattern, we immediately go all sentimental blogger. “Awww, that’s where we met Tim Gunn for the first time!” Misty, water-colored memories.

HE: Needs a haircut so bad we can’t even look at him. Seriously, who thinks that frames his face well? Buddy, you’re wife’s in heels and a tight dress; the least you could have done was get your shirt collar starched, wear a belt, and not drool on your lapel. Since you failed at all three, you get … Score: 3/10. We’re feeling unforgiving this morning and that lapel stain set us off.

SHE: Looks damn fine. We’re on record as not liking the so-called “naked shoe,” but she’s got nice feet and it’s hot in New York right now, so she pulls that off. Extra kudos for not matching the clutch to the shoes. The dress is great. The little side-peplums wouldn’t work on 95% of women, but Nicole’s got a movie star bod and such things make no difference to her. Love the neckline and the little cap sleeves. Hair’s a bit too long and the lips match the dress exactly, but these are minor quibbles.  Score: 8.5/10.

Combined Score: 5.75/10. Nicole, you need to fire that husband of yours.
