While so many stars have been waltzing around the Riviera for the Cannes Film Festival, Daisy Ridley has been hard at work, pounding the sidewalks of New York and demanding that everyone take a look at her inspirational Disney film. Also: serving. The star of the upcoming sports biopic Young Woman and the Sea made the press circuit in a fairly wide array of cutesy-twee to downright cray looks. Shall we? Yes, we shall.
AT THE GOOD MORNING AMERICA STUDIOS IN ADEAM
Hello, 1991! We weren’t quite prepared for your return. We could possibly get behind this look but those button gaps are extremely unfortunate and we’re not really feeling the footwear choice.

This is kind of cute, although there’s a bit of a “let’s take a basic shirt and fuck it up” feel to the design. Still, we like the pleated panel, which is a bit of a pleasant surprise. The shoes look pretty bad with it. Both this and the previous look would’ve benefited from some semi-casual summer footwear like espadrilles or flat sandals.
AT THE VIEW STUDIOS IN PRADA
Jesus, what is going on with her footwear choices? The dress washes her out and the textile just doesn’t hold up well enough for pictures. The boots look absolutely ridiculous with it.
AT THE YOUNG WOMAN AND THE SEA SCREENING in LORO PIANA
It’s baby blankets. We certainly have no problem with a white crocheted dress, but this design is so mumsy and heavy.
