Oh, she’s so back. Look, you’ll never hear us complaining when Steffi’s on her Prestige Actress or Classic Chanteuse style modes. But sometimes, you just want your dose of Gaga to be pharmaceutical grade and we’re happy to report she delivered for her fans at the screening of her Chromatica Ball documentary.

We just want our Gaga weird every now and then. Sue us. She’s always had several style modes. Along with the Prestige Actress and Classic Chanteuse modes, there is the Italian Princess mode and this one: Art Student mode. We have a feeling that her upcoming promo tour for Joker 2 will reveal some heretofore undiscovered mode for her; something that combines old circus tropes with classic glam, perhaps. Or maybe not! As she noted on her Insta, “On the red carpet I told them it was a car part. They said what kind and I said I don’t know, I’m not a mechanic.”

No shade against the theme-dressers, cosplayers and Easter Egg layers among her cohort, but it’s refreshing as hell to hear someone shrug and admit they wore something because it looks cool. Granted, she is VERY much on theme for the Chromatica Ball, so it’s not like it’s some random whim. As for critiques, it’s pretty much beyond any conventional ones, which is kind of the point. What? Like we’re going to complain about the accessorizing here or quibble over hem lengths?
