We’re not entirely sure how a gal should dress while promoting her poorly conceived and poorly received Amy Winehouse biopic in Paris, but we’ll give Back to Black star Marisa Abela some credit here. She nailed a sort of Penitent Chic that feels pretty right to us.

We wouldn’t normally be all that supportive of such neutral tones on a red carpet, but the shapes and the textures are the entire selling point of garments like these, so rendering them in bright photogenic colors would be a mistake, we think. It’s sharply expressive, but not overly glamorous and it checks off the box for the kind of haute chicness you’d want for a Paris premiere. It’s a good choice for a sucky movie. We hate the way the hair is style with it, however. Cocker spaniel ears was not the way to go.
