Chris? Everything okay? Because you look kind of, well, exhausted.

Here you are, in your jaunty little loafers and your big hair, with a face that might as well have “JETLAG” stamped on it. You didn’t even button down your collar. Tsk.

But you’re still cute, so fret not. Also, we can’t ding you for lack of effort, even if you didn’t manage all the buttons. It’s a beautiful suit and a fabulous pair of shoes. Now go take a nap.

Seriously, that’s some big-ass hair.

Poor guy needs a nap. But the hair is still silly.

    • FuhUgh

      Max Headroom, bearded.

  • Danielle

THOSE LOAFERS. I’m HERE for them.

  • Very surprised the clashing blues aren’t giving you eye twitches.

    • marlie

I think it’s because the suit is navy, which is almost as neutral as you can get, so the bright blue of the shoes is the requisite pop of color against a neutral base. If the suit were any shade other than navy, we might have a problem.

    • Kathy

I agree. The bright blue of the shoes is focus-pulling and clashing with the dull blue of the pants.

    • kimmeister

I think if they had been an exact match, that would’ve given them more eye twitches.

  • Kate Andrews

    I want those loafers.

  • Beto

Can he take a nap in my bed? Just asking…

    • Nikko Viquiera

Sorry he’s already in mine. 😛

      • kmk05

        We can all share him.

        • not_Bridget

But he’s still not going to get any rest!

  • Jackie Stewart

    He is yummy, though.

  • semirose

Ahh that boyband hair is so at odds with the touch of grey in his beard!

    • leahpapa

I found the touch of grey really endearing, though it does seem separated by a generation from his hair. I liked him a lot as Kirk but worry that the douche may be strong with this one (forgive the Star-crossing references). Taking the Clooney-esque route of confidently embracing some signs of aging is a good move for him.

      • barbarienne

I was wondering if the beard is for a role, and then I wondered if he’s trying the Brad Pitt “I’m a talented actor, not just a pretty leading man” thing. We’ll know for sure if Mr. Pine starts taking roles where he plays clinically unstable people.

      • Kent Roby

I don’t get a douchey vibe from him yet, but I hope he steers clear of roles like in “This Means War” that plays on his looks and cockiness.

        • leahpapa

I was glad to see him cast in “Into the Woods.” (Sidebar: if that movie sucks – *cough*RobMarshall*cough* – I will be crushed.)

          • Kent Roby

Oh, that should be interesting; I assume he will be one of the two princes. Let’s hope he doesn’t pull a Pierce Brosnan when he sings.

          • leahpapa

Indeed, he’s Cinderella’s prince, though there seems to be some ambiguity about whether the movie changes some of his relationship with the baker’s wife. (And if anybody cries “spoilers!” – we are talking about a story that had its debut in 1986. Perhaps one is also disappointed to know that the Macbeths have a codependent marriage and that Dorian Gray’s secret isn’t La Mer.)

          • Kent Roby

I’ve probably relayed this story here before, but years ago I overhead some young girls talking about “Titanic”; one girl was really mad at another for telling her that the ship sank!

          • fursa_saida

His playing one of the princes is more interesting than it might be, because it means he’ll be playing a total dick. So the “fairy tale prince” thing is so expected it’s almost painful, but then because Into the Woods is such a dark take on/reversion to earlier versions of fairy tales it’ll be a different kind of character. I’m interested to see how he’ll do, and whether Anna Kendrick’s Cinderella will overshadow him.

I heard about those narrative changes too and I am very displeased, though I can’t say I’m surprised.

          • semirose

What ambiguity? I thought they flat out said they weren’t doing the affair.

          • leahpapa

There was a Vulture piece today or yesterday in which Sondheim kinda back-pedaled on that – looks like “Any Moment” is in the show? So I say ambiguity but the reality is that I’m just confused.

          • semirose

Hmm well I suppose that’s something. It really is pretty pivotal to the show but I think for sanity’s sake just not paying attention to anything about this movie until it comes out is for the best.

          • StellaZafella

            ” I’m charming, not sincere!”

      • semirose

Oh I love the touch of grey, it’s just yeah the hair…He always seems so great that I hope he’s not douchey. His english major background always endears him to me since so many actors are just straight all about the showbiz.

      • kimmeister

I find it endearing too, but the gray section doesn’t seem to be as neatly groomed as the brown section, making it look somewhat pubic.

        • demidaemon

Despite that, it’s still a million miles ahead of any other boystar’s facial hair game.

    • StrandedFashionista

That touch of gray makes me very happy… the hair not so much. I love the old-school barber shop look, but the hair on top needs to be more controlled.

  • Noah

You better look perky as hell while wearing those shoes, because if you look tired, they go straight to, “Look at my cute slippers! Now I’m going back to bed!”

  • Everything from eyes to ankles I like. The hair and loafers don’t work for me.

  • marlie

The suit and the shoes are perfection. I LOVE that suit. I also like his salt&pepper facial hair, but I can only hope that that haircut is for a role. Otherwise, he needs to sue somebody.

  • colleenjanel

This fills me with sad. He needs a haircut, a shave, and some sleep. Not necessarily in that order.

    • B. Garcia

Right? Getting paid to wear a gorgeous suit and then getting to bang gorgeous models must really take it out of you!

  • That last picture I’m getting major waves of Clooneyification. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  • Chris Pine can run around in a potato sack for all I care… as long as he’s wearing those shoes. That man is some FINE.

  • Sorry but I cannot, and will not get behind loafers without socks. I start seating under my arches just thinking about it. I have plenty of room on my bed, Chris, if you really want that nap.

    • MoHub

I can smell the stankfoot from here.

      • Kent Roby

I generally assume that really-low hidden socks are being deployed in these situations.

    • I too cannot sanction loafers without socks. I really love the colour of these shoes. 🙂

    • Wink

I love to wear loafers and driving mocs without socks (in summer). Granted, I’m sitting in an air conditioned building or car 95 percent of the time, so the sweat is minimal!

    • largishbearishAtlish

I was wondering why he wore bedroom shoes with the suit? not buying them at all, they border on fuzzy bunny slippers to me (and if worn outdoors need socks)

  • mimi

  • Anna

Ah, that Robbie Williams circa Take That hair gave me my first good laugh of the day.

    Love the loafers.

    • Upvote just for mentioning one of my favourite bands of all time. 🙂

I think Robbie would be kinda jealous of this hair, I don’t think his was ever *this* fluffy! 😉

      • Anna

True, I think he would’ve loved having this much volume!

And now I’m going to have “It Only Takes a Minute” and “Back For Good” stuck in my head all day.

  • WendyD

I love the hair!! He could shave that beard down to scruff and I wouldn’t complain. He’s just so damn pretty. The shoes are fun.

  • DagnyReardon

He can come take a nap at my place.

  • ashtangajunkie

Not crazy about the loafers or the ode to Conan O’Brien on top of his head, but I enjoy him regardless.

    • kimmeister

NAILED IT with the Conan reference.

  • Kent Roby

The poor dear, won’t anyone volunteer to run their fingers through his hair to tame it? Heck, I’d do that, and offer him a comfy bed to rest in….while I stole his loafers.

  • I still think a decent and careful eyebrow wax would open up his eyes. 🙂

  • Samantha Stacey Riches

The hair makes his head look longer. Nice suit and loafers though. Really like the unbuttoned collar.

    • Kent Roby

Yeah, the unbuttoned collar doesn’t bother me either.

  • Tami from Seattle

Could be the third Hemsworth brother.

  • JenniferA

Mmmm, Sausage Friday came early! Thank you, uncles!

  • Wink

Loving the suede loafers – especially without socks. But why is it okay for him to wear suede shoes in summer, but everyone was all over Taylor Swift for wearing suede pumps? I’m just calling a suede a suede… no?

  • Gatto Nero

He should find a good parrucchiere in Milano.

    • Mr. J.

Chris, they are picking on you for your hair. VIENI QUA. I will comfort you.

  • Tricia

He could take a nap at my place….
It’s crazy how much a good beard will change how I feel about a dude.

  • ModernDowager

Those most divine shoes are having a nice conversation with his eyes. Now that’s a neat trick.

  • snarkykitten

That hair is getting close to Jesus. wow.

  • Jessica Freeman

Love the loafers & suit, but not together. He does nothing for me. Have at him kittens!

  • MightyMarshal

He should play Elton John in a biopic.

  • FibonacciSequins

Not loving the beard, loving every other detail. Especially the blue loafers.

    • Shawn EH

      They’re great!

  • Shawn EH

Flaunt it while you got it, I guess!

  • decormaven

The shoes are great- wish there had been a jaunty pocket square to pick up or play on that color. However, that may have drawn more attention to the fact that he looks a bit tuckered. A good nap would have elevated this look the most.

  • Lori

Huh. It’s unusual to see a guy use “the higher the hair, the closer to God” as a style mantra. Love the shoes.

  • quiltrx

I hope that haircut is for a role, because it’s kind of a nightmare. It’s borderline gapped on the sides, and makes it look like he has on a hair-hat.
On the plus side, cool shoes, and I like that the suit has a bit of pattern.

  • MartyBellerMask

We give my 5 year old home haircuts with clippers. He hates haircuts. So sometimes we have to take a break and finish later, or the next day). We don’t leave the house mid-haircut.

Chris’s hair basically looks like he left the house mid-haircut.

  • formerlyAnon

I hate shoes that make me think of slippers. Those are some fiiiine examples of the genre, though.

  • Tracy_Flick

    The hipster hair – NO.

  • d4divine

He looks fabulous…poor baby is tired though…no matter, Lady D is here for ya Chris. Lol

  • boweryboy

It looks like he stepped out in his house shoes.
Also, my partner’s hair is that huge. It drives me nuts, and not in a hot sexy kind of way. I blame his trendy hipster hairdresser.

  • MarissaLG

The gray in the beard is working for me. The hair definitely is not.

  • BobStPaul

I’m obviously in the minority but I like the hair – especially in combination with the beard.

  • Jecca2244

i want those loafers in his and hers for the hubby and me.

  • KT

Holy shit. What is happening?? It’s like Bieber’s hair + Brad Pitt’s old beard. Plus Hugh Hefner’s shoes. WTF.

  • MilaXX

I am loving the hair and beard on him. Let him nap to rid himself of those bags under his eyes. Everything else is working for me.

  • Violina23

    Chris has a sad…

  • Crystal

He’s extremely attractive but that hair looks really dumb. Come over here and let me fix your hair, Chris.

  • numenah

As a fellow sufferer, I’m sympathetic about the cowlick.

  • smayper

I’m gathering a nice collection for my fantasy shoe closet…those loafers (which would be perfectly great for women IMO), the red ones Elle Fanning didn’t wear with her pink dress, and the oxfords Taylor Swift wore with her shorts…it’s so nice that celebs are modeling cool flats for me!

  • Ana the Hated

If George Clooney and Brad Pitt had a baby.

  • Janet B

My eyes feel his pain, I’ve needed a nap for weeks.

  • RedRaven617

That last photo is very George Michael from the 90s

  • skitzfiggitous

He made an effort to shave his neckbeard, though. Good boy. He must’ve compensated for the loss of neck fluff by adding amplitude to his upstairs ‘do. Still, effort. Huzzah.

    • JauntyJohn

No neck beard is a major win for most of these boys.

  • LadyVimes

I love the hair. Very ‘in’ for the euro boys currently, but maybe not parted down the side like that.
He makes me tingly, especially when he looks so sharp.

  • demidaemon

I can’t ding his headsuit game. Despite the bigness of his hair, everything neck up is flawless, especially his beard. That beard is immaculate and I am loving it.

  • St. Ace

This is the handsomest I’ve ever seen him. He needs to groom himself this way forever more.
